Types and specifications of equipment for packing and wrapping of pallets

The cargo installed on a special pallet is being packed with the help of pallet packagers and pallet wrappers. Stretch film (aka stretch) is required to group and fix the transported cargo, to protect it from moisture and dirt. With the help of pallet packagers and pallet wrappers, the film is wrapped on a cargo installed onto the pallet, so that a convenient transportation configuration is given to it.

There are several types of equipment for pallet packaging of cargo on the market: it is divided into automatic and semi-automatic, manufactured for different types of cargo.

Universal palletizers (pallet packers)

This is the most common type of equipment used for packaging goods weighing up to two tons and with heights of up to 2.2 – 2.5 meters (depending on the modification of the packer). There are more miniature models designed for cargo heights of up to 1.8, 1.6 and one and half of a meter. For stretching the film during the packaging process on such equipment, you can choose one of three systems:

LP (motorized “pre-stretch”);
EM (mechanical clutch);
FM (electromagnetic clutch).

Palletizers ( pallet packers) of the top class

Top-class models are designed for cargo weighing more than two tons, with a height of up to three meters or more. Such models are able to process even with unstable loads, as they are equipped with special clamping devices. On such equipment, it is possible to stretch the film for up to 300 percent, and the fastening and cutting is carried out automatically.

Palletizers for stationary pallets

This type of equipment – self-propelled robots that can be delivered directly to the place of packaging – used in cases where the cargo is difficult to transport and does not tolerate extra movements in the unpacked form. For this, the WR battery systems have been developed, replacing manual labor, and at the same time being able to adapt to non-standard forms of oversized cargo. There are modifications with helium accumulators of increased capacity, programming and remote control system, automated stretching and cutting of the film.

Automatic stretch systems

Automatic lines are used at enterprises manufacturing cargo packaging on an industrial scale. These systems are always completed upon the order, depending on the specific needs of production, such as type of the goods transported and maximum dimensions to be packaged.
